Mass arrests last night @ the Emerson Gaza solidarity encampment; numbers still being determined, NLG tweeted at 6:50 that estimates are 70-100 students and faculty/staff members. Jail support needs will be posted in the events feed.

Harvard Liberation Zone For Gaza has been set up.

4/22/2024:
Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee has been suspended.

4/21/2024:
Palestine Solidarity Encampments began at MIT, Emerson, and Tufts at 7PM. Their collective demands are as follows: 1. Disclose all holdings and collaborations universities have in the Zionist entity, 2. To divest and cut all investments to the Zionist entity, including companies companies complicit in the colonisation of Palestine, 3. To drop all charges and attacks on student organizers, 4. An end to the occupation in Palestine, including an immediate and permanent ceasefire

3/30/2024:
Boston Coalition for Palestine held a march thru Back Bay Saturday, which ended with activists occupying the Mass Ave Bridge at dusk to form a "human banner." A group of anonymous/autonomous protestors also shut down the Longfellow ridge that day, flying a banner to call out Elbit Systems (a leading producer of weapons currently being used by Israel to murder Palestinians).

3/25/2024:
The spending bill has passed and will, tragically, continue the suspension of aid to UNRWA until at least March 2025 and dole out the yearly $3.8 Billion in aid to Israel. Senators Warren and Markey, alongside 7 Massachusetts members of Congress, and President Joe Biden worked together over the weekend to ensure the continued starvation and murder of Palestinian civilians. Representatives Auchincloss, Clark, Lynch, Moulton, Neal, Trahan, and Keating should all be deeply ashamed of themselves for contributing to this genocide. The only MA rep to vote "No" was McGovern. 2/27/24:
Staff at Cambridge music venue, The Sinclair, organized a picket and protest alongside Jewish Voice for Peace and other local members of the Boston music community tonight in response to a benefit concert featuring Zionist performer Ishay Ribo. The concert, organized by Harvard Chabad, advertised the concert as a fundraiser to "rebuild and heal Israel." The protest drew a large, musical crowd outside of the venue. Artists are beginning to cancel future shows at the Sinclair in solidarity. (LINK)

Northampton has voted in favor of a Ceasefire Resolution.

2/25/24:
Aaron Bushnell, 25, originally from Whitman MA, self immolated this afternoon in DC, while shouting "FREE PALESTINE." His full speech before committing this act follows. "I am an Active-Duty Member of the US Air Force and I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I am about to engage in an extreme form of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it is not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal." (LINK)

~100 If Not Now Boston and Muslim Justice League protesters staged a die-in at South Station during rush hour today, demanding a ceasefire and chanting "free Palestine," calling on Senators Warren and Markey to block aid to Israel (LINK)

2/12/24:
Senators Warren and Markey betrayed constituents and continued their complicity in the genocide of Palestinians by voting in favor of additional funding for Israel on Sunday. (LINK)

Jews & allies held sit-in at in Senator Markey's office demanding a NO vote on $14.1 billion unconditional military aid to Israel. (LINK)

Community members staged a disruption at the downtown Boston offices of Elbit-investor BNY Mellon (LINK)

House Resolution 7217, Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, FAILED to get the 2/3 majorite needed to expedite passage. (Link)

Medford City Council voted 5-1 in favor of a resolution calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza

2/5/24:
Japan's Itochu Corporation, one of the world's largest companies, just announced it is ending its partnership with the largest Israeli weapons company, Elbit Systems, citing the ICJ’s ruling as the reason for cutting ties (LINK)

Logistics giant, Kuehne + Nagel, confirm they've cut their contract with Elbit Systems and will not work with the Israeli weapons maker again. (Link)

Harvard students filed a federal civil rights complaint over Harvard’s failure to protect them from targeted racism and harassment on campus, discriminating against them for being Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, and students supporting Palestinian rights. (Link)
